Litha is on, or around, June 21st of each year. It's the summer solstice. Midsummer is the longest day and shortest night of the year and is the first official day of summer. Summer Solstice is the time when the sun begins to wane and the journey into the harvest season has begun. This is the time of the first of three annual harvests. Litha means "light" and at this time we celebrate the Sun in it's full radiance with symbols of the Sun, with bright colors, and with bonfires. At this time, the God figure is about to be a Father. The Goddess is in advanced pregnancy, soon to deliver her first harvest onto the Earth. This is a time of vitality, healing, love, light, and indulgence.

Here's me and Samantha
This is me and Rain before the Midsummer ritual began. It was a beautiful day. We were very blessed by the goddess to have such great weather for the ritual.

The Wicker Man
Here's our Wicker Man we built. The burning of the Wicker Man is a symbol of sacrificing the year God, something that we do to ensure the continued fertility of the land. The God is moving into the latter stages of his life now. Soon he will move on into Summerland, leaving the Goddess to bear their child, so that he may return to this land once again. |

The Aftermath of Burning the Wicker Man
This is the bonfire we made with the Wicker Man. This was taken after the Wicker Man was pretty much burnt all the way through.

Beautiful Rain
Here's Rain again, before ritual. She is one of the funnest people I know to be around. |
